Hi. New kid in the making. REALLY enjoying slam lately, wondering if you lovelies could give some feedback on a few pieces. I'll post 'em two at a time so you don't overload.

All of my new stuff is up in one nifty entry in my journal if you like.

AZ Poetry Homework [Oct. 20th, 2003|04:50 pm]

[mood |recumbentrecumbent]

I've started handing out homework at the slams at Anthology & Essenza. Every week the host of the following week picks an idea, or a title, or some sort of guidelines for a poem. The next week, anyone who follows that guideline gets an additional point added to their score in the round.

This week's assignment (due Wed @ Anthology or Thurs @ Essenza) is a poem written in the passive voice. Examples: instead of saying "Fuck you," you would say "You should be the recipient of a fuck."
Instead of "Last night I watched a funny episode of Will & Grace," you would say "During the night which was previous to the current one, an episode of Will & Grace, which was funny, was observed by me." Verbs should be pacified and helper verbs should be employed in giving objects qualities that are direct.

If you'd like to play along, post your poems in the comment section of this post.

End Construction. Inspired by the cover of my latest journal, and all the work being done outside The Anthology Cafe.

Have we officially declared this community dead? Or is it on haitus? If it's not dead, I propose a new title. This one is from jeremyrichard's first book. The title is "Mapquest Directions to the Objects in this Poem."

Hello? Is there anybody in there?

I want to get a little absurdist this week- not that this is the direction you have to take, but...

Title number two is...

"Transexual Anal Easter Egg Hunt"

We'll tone things down next week. Promise.
